Dental Insurance - Burlington, MA
Getting the Most Out of Your Plan
Dr. Derek Song and his team want to ensure that all of our patients are able to receive the high quality and personalized dentistry they deserve at a price they can afford. For this reason, we participate with a number of dental insurance companies, and we work with our patients to help them get the maximum benefit that their plan offers.
How Does My Dental Insurance Work?
We understand that dental insurance can be confusing and difficult to understand, so our insurance experts on our staff are here to help. It’s important to know that every dental plan is different, even those within the same insurance company.
Many dental plans run on a calendar year schedule, which means that their benefits start in January and end in December. They will typically have a yearly maximum amount that they will cover for both preventive and restorative care, and some plans have a deductible that must be paid before any coverage is applied.
Preventive care is typically completely covered, while restorative treatments are usually only partially covered, with the remaining balance being the patient’s responsibility. There are typically different levels of coverage for dentists who are in and out of an insurance provider’s network.
Working with Your Dental Insurance
We’re happy to file dental insurance claims on your behalf. We accept plans from many of the nation’s top providers, and we are in network with many major insurance plans. If you have questions about your network or levels of coverage, we encourage you to contact our office. Our Office Manager, Theresa, and our friendly, knowledgeable staff will take the time to review your benefits with you so you’re clear on what’s covered and what will be an out-of-pocket expense.
How to Get the Most Out of Your Dental Plan
Most plans cover preventive care at 100%. This means that you can get your routine cleaning and exam every six months at little or no cost to you. This is a great benefit to take advantage of since preventive care is truly the key to maintaining your oral health.
Your dentist will screen you for dental issues such as oral cancer, periodontal (gum) disease, and tooth decay at every dental checkup. Early detection of these conditions will give you the opportunity for treatment using less invasive and costly procedures.
It is our primary goal to help you prevent many dental issues from developing in the first place, so be sure to take full advantage of your preventive care benefits.
